Matthew 10:8  “Heal the sick, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. NIV[1]

For this study, we will look in scriptures. John 14:15 “If you love me, keep (obey) my commands.[2] Restated in John 14:23 NIV Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.[3] Once more in John 15:10 NIV “If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.”[4]

What are the commandments? Many refer to the major ten commandments in the bible. However, most ignore or neglect to recognize the other commandments. Some believe that there are 1050 New Testament commandments.[5]

Is not Matthew 10:8 a commandment? If so, then is it not true that to commit sin is to willfully disobey God’s commandments or to fail to act righteously despite a knowledge of the truth.[6]

Too many present day ministries turn a blind eye. I believe firmly that Matthew 10:8 IS a commandment. I also believe that Kris Valloton is correct when he states, “words without power is not the gospel. If I read the bible and don’t have an experience, that’s just religion. Religion is what happens when the spirit leaves the room. The word and the spirit equal truth.”
